About Melanie:

Melanie Wood is a Registered Yoga Teacher as well as a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner. She has acquired several certifications starting her continued education process in 2003 with YogaFit and completing her Iyengar based 200 hour teaching certification through Yandara Institute in 2006. Her 8 month study and Yoga Therapy Practitioner certification was completed in 2010 through Phoenix Rising Center .

Melanie has been sharing her love of yoga, meditation, stress reduction and energy work in many settings and with many types of individuals by working in groups and one-on-one. Melanie has worked with a versatile crowd: from kids and mothers to be, to seniors in care facilities, from corporate leaders, to those in fitness facilities.

 
 

Recently, Melanie started to combine her learned modalities into a process she is calling Personal Integration. Personal Integration creates individualized sessions that enable clients to discover first what their needs are, and then ensure awareness or action steps to integrate the discoveries into daily life.

In addition to acquiring an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Melanie is working towards earning a graduate degree with Psychology as her major. Some interests include being outdoors enjoying nature's wonders, collecting books, and spending time with family and friends.

WHAT IS PERSONAL INTEGRATION?

Personal Integration is a business and a method that combines modalities such as Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Pilates, Meditation, Breathing Techniques, and Stress Reduction to create individualized sessions that enable clients to discover first what their needs are, and then ensure awareness or action steps to integrate the discoveries into daily life. This can be on a physical level, a mental or emotional level, or on a spiritual level.

Everybody has a unique way of dealing with and identifying stress, whether physical, mental, emotional, or within the spirit body. The energy and energies required to integrate balancing actions into daily life are sometimes difficult to discover on our own.

Melanie creates individualized sessions that enable clients to discover first what their needs and goals are, and then ensure awareness or action steps to integrate the discoveries BOTH sessions and into daily life. These can be in a group setting, or in private sessions.

 
         
 

Hatha Yoga

Just as in a group class Yoga basics and pose structure will help you stretch, strengthen and tighten your body while implementing breath and stress reduction methods into a practice that balances YOU body, mind and spirit. Personalized yoga lessons are the most effective and the quickest way to reach your goals. Working on a one-on-one basis ensures that you are gently guided in the right direction for your particular needs, that you work towards goals that suit your body and your temperament, and that you maximize your own personal growth.

Pilates Mat Class Improve core control, coordination, standing alignment and balance with Pilates mat exercises. These movements are performed seated or while lying down on your back, side or front. Emphasis is on precise alignment, breathing and efficient sequencing of movement.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT)

This 90 minute one-on-one session includes a centering process for body and mind awareness, supported yoga postures and movements, and dialogue techniques that follow the clients lead. This modality is carefully designed to facilitate the client in accessing information stored within. The practitioner also aides the client in processing the experience and incorporating findings into daily life.
