In 2001 I was, like many, investigating the frightening question of "What do I want to do for the rest of my life?" During this time I had the most peculiar suggestion, from my Mother. Massage Therapy? I honestly thought this was laughable, I did not see myself in the type of profession where I was in constant contact with ʻstrangersʼ, where Iʼd be treating the person and the ailment? A twist of fate you may call it... after both having a similar experience with the final recognition of a massage school sign (it had been there for 5 years, neither had ʻnoticedʼ it) I was enrolled at the ʻFingerlakes School of Massageʼ within 24 hours of her original recommendation. This experience changed my life. I learned more about myself and others than I ever could have imagined and have had an undying passion to build upon this since...

A Touch of Tranquility Massage Therapy opened in Newfield NY in 2001, opened in Corning in 2003; this is when Medical Massage, Surgery, Accident and Injury Recovery and overall relaxation techniques for the extraordinarily stressed out, tender and traumatized became a focus for me. The incorporation of the ʻTranquility Signature Treatmentsʼ were inspired by this type of work; I was searching for a new way to assist in deeper relaxation by integrating heating or cooling therapies. As well as incorporated Skin Care to help educate women, men, teens and even children in the proper approach to healthy skin. My affinity for Aromatherapy has Inspired a new ʻTranquility Holiday Menuʼ every year.

I have been actively practicing Massage Therapy since my graduation in 2001, received my license to practice Esthetics in 2003, following my graduation from the Continental School of Beauty Culture. After the birth of my son I became certified in Infant Massage Therapy in 2006. Throughout the years have continued to develop my profession and expand my realm of knowledge within my practice of both bodywork and Esthetics.

I have proceeded to diversify my life and practice in experience and continuing education; with Esthetics broadening my expertise with now Specializing in Facial, Body and Brazilian waxing techniques.Further education in European Skin Care techniques, Hydrotherapy and an array of body treatments, strong product knowledge in 6 various product lines, ingredients knowledge, ethics, CPR, business, communication skills and customer service. In general extending my enlightenment and socially networking (everywhere from Ithaca to Corning), having the privilege of Managing the Esthetics department at larger scale Spa and working in other Spaʼs and Salons. Some of the other techniques within my field of study include Connective Tissue, Advanced Swedish Massage, Advanced Circulatory Therapy, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Kinesthetic Awareness, Energy Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Chair Massage and Aromatherapy/ Essential Oils.

Massage Therapy theory and practice education includes Human Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology/Myology and Neurology. General Pathologies and Oriental theory and practice as well.

If I had to describe the kind of Bodywork I most often focus on, I would say: Fundamentally to create a warm, relaxing and safe place to let go... By utilizing an integrative technique to not only help relieve the burden of stress accumulating in the body, the pressure and discomfort of having an injury, but do it in a pain-free way with concentration in Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial release and Site Specific Massage. In other words my attempt is to release tender and painful tension without more discomfort.

Today, I spend a lot of time and energy researching new products to incorporate that are of the highest quality, utilizing (as much as possible) organic, all natural, naturally derived, self-sustaining, and local ingredients. I feel itʼs of the utmost importance to offer our guests not only a superior quality product or treatment, but one that is also effective and designed specifically for you.

Our philosophy is to educate you the client. Youʼre the only one whom may make these changes possible. We encourage healthful, mindful decisions to help relax the mind and body leading to better, health, happiness and well-being.
